Abstract

The mangrove ecosystem has ecological functions that benefit organisms in the coastal environment, including humans. Mangrove rehabilitation is an effort to restore an ecosystem from a deteriorating condition to a condition similar to the habitat before natural disturbance or human activity. In general, the people of Bale Brang village have a livelihood as fishermen so that in carrying out their work activities they will utilize various kinds of marine and fisheries resources found on the coast and sea. This service activity aims to provide public understanding and awareness of the importance of the mangrove ecosystem, apart from that, to protect the mangrove ecosystem and the preservation of the coast of Bale Brang Village. The implementation method consists of three stages. The first stage is material socialization and discussion, the second is mangrove planting, and the final is evaluation. The evaluation shows an increase in public understanding by 13.4%. The awareness and concern of the people of Bale Brang Village can be seen from their participation in this service activity.
